In the Summer of 2002, my partner Sandy Greenfield and I completed our hunt for a horse farm... or more accurately a property we would turn into a horse farm.
We found a house on 3.5 acres, that was almost all woods. So, after months of land clearing and a wonderful barn being built by New Life Developments, we had WaterGate Farm, or at least the very start. Over the next few years, we added more paddocks, a ring which grew in size 3 times before it was finally fenced off, an out barn, and an addition to the main barn. |
Just last year, we added 1.3 acres to the Farm, all woods of course, to ensure our way of life would remain blissfully quiet, or to allow for the addition of an indoor arena, if I ever win the lottery!
As of now, the only plans for the new land is to increase the size of one of the paddocks this Summer.
Farm work is never done!
We are very proud of our Farm, which is home to not only us and our horses, but our cherished rescued dogs and cats.
